The Lady or the Tiger

The interesting story “The Lady or the Tiger” was written by Frank Stockton. In the story, a princess has to choose a way for her lover which is death or live. The king, princess’s father put a guy into the prison and he forced him to choose the two doors. One of them has the tiger and another one has one of the most beautiful girl young women at court. He would marry her. Finally, the princess know the secret of the two doors and she has promised to her lover the she would help. Will she leave him die, or be happy with another girl? Either way, he will lose him.
By reading the story, I have tried to picture in my mind for the two doors which a guy need to choose the way. I also read slowly and carefully when the text becomes difficult to make sure that what I read is the right thing. Sometimes, I have to re-read when I lose my concentration. I also predict the way that the princess will choose. And I think she would choose him live because if she really loves him, then she won’t let him die.

Your prediction that she would let her lover live is based on what you have read about the princess' feelings for her lover. You believe that she would value his life more. When you reflect on how you read, please remember to give examples to illustrate when you read slowly or when you had to re-read a passage. Examples help your reader understand better how you use reading strategies.
