RAISE YOU VOICE # 8

I am reading the book called Raise Your Voice which was written by Robin Wasserman. The book is so interesting and this is the last part of the book. Slone was playing her piano and Kiwi was also playing drum next to her room. He tried to play as loud as he could to make her come to shout on him. She finally came to the room, and then tries to guess what Kiwi did? He kissed her. Impossibly, she kissed him back. They both were staying together for doing something. You can guess what it is. Even you know what it is, keep it in your mind. I use reading strategies by trying to picture in my mind what was going on.
I also like to play music, I used to play guitar. It was so fun, but I couldn’t play that well. At least I have tried hard and I got on stage once.
After that, everyone went to the auditorium for watching the show that all students were prepared for the whole summer time.
Terry forgot her lucky necklace at her room. Oh my god!! Her dad was in the room. He forced her to go back home, but she didn’t care his words. She told him that she must go up to the stage and show her gift. If it’s me, I will go on the stage either. I won’t give up easily.
It’s Terry and Jay’s turn to show their song. They began the song and Terry’s parents came into the room. They were watching while her daughter was singing a song. At last he felt glad to her, and he realized that he shouldn’t force her daughter for not doing something she likes. I feel pleased to her that lastly, her dad understands her. After everything is done, everyone started to play music together. The End…
I want to recommend this book to anyone especially who likes music. It is good that the book shows the goal of people which they were trying hard on their music and also finally finished her daddy’s problem.

RAISE YOUR VOICE #7

I am reading the book called “Raise Your Voice” and it was written by Robin Wasserman. Jay felt like his heart was breaking because Terry stopped talking to him, but Jay was still trying to talk to her. He couldn’t write the song without Terry. He needed her; he always thought about her. I really understand how he felt. Terry was depressing. She never thought that she would see his boy friend doing this. If it’s me I will be so upset like Terry too. One day, Jay went to Terry’s room to apologize to her. He was drunk. Terry took him up to the deck. Jay slept on the floor; Terry looked after him all night. I tried to imagine how he went up to her room with unconsciousness and trying to bring his love back. I think Terry still loved him, so she wanted to take care of him. She wouldn’t let him stay alone while he’s getting drunk. Drunken man would do anything because he was in unconsciously situation. Finally, somehow they both came back to each other. It might be because Jay was trying to see her and talk to her for many times, and suddenly last night he came to her room. That might be the reason why she forgave her. If I am Jay and I love Terry so much, I would do like him. I won’t give up easily. I would try to do every single thing that I can do, but I wouldn’t drink to eradicate my pain. They both helping each other wrote the song. Terry would sing and Jay would play guitar together for show. They might get the scholarship.
Inauspicious, her father finally knew that Terry went to the musical school for the whole summer vacation. It was because the school sent them a letter to see their show. His dad was so upset. He would go to see Terry. Let see what would he do, will he get angry when he see her or he would be proud of his daughter? I predict he would do something bad to her. He would take her back home even she has any reason. It’s because he already said that he doesn’t want her to come her since she was at home.

"Girl"

I have read through the story named “Girl” by Jamaica Kincaid. This was about a strict woman that has a daughter. She commanded her daughter everything she desired because she wanted her to be a good girl in the future. It reminded me when my dad wanted me to get all a in the class. He hoped me to get it, but I didn’t. He was a bit angry, but I told him that I have tried so hard and it was difficult, so I just get this score. Finally, he understood me. I didn’t understand when the story talks about “you mean to say that after all you are really going to be the kind of woman who the baker won’t let near the bread?” I tried to think what the meaning is, but I couldn't so I asked my teacher the meaning. So now I figure out that the mother said like, do you want to be a girl that the bread seller doesn't want you to touch their bread? It means that if you are dirty, they won't let you touch their bread.
I think the mother loves her daughter so much. She commands a girl what she demand. She want her to be clean and many other good things, so when a girl grows up, she will be a perfect girl that men want to marry with and having an awesome future life. I predict her daughter will be contract on her mom, but she will do well on her mother’s demand.
