Goosebumps #3

I was continuing reading on Goosebumps which was written by R.L.Stine. This chapter was still on competition of two boys.
My prediction was wrong, Wilson didn’t draw more superheroes, but while they were going back home, Wilson showed his new bicycle which Mia seem to like it more than Jack’s bicycle. Jack lost again!!
After that they rode back home to Wilson’s house. Wilson and Jack were in competition again and Wilson won. When they were home, they were playing with Jack’s dog and Wilson’s dog and they were proving whose dog is better. I don’t know why they really like to compete in everything. They are friends; the word “friend” is to help each other, not to do like this.
But who knows? Accidentally, Mrs.Green was screaming across the street. Mia, Wilson, and Jack went to see what was going on. Oliver, a cat, went up to the tree and it couldn’t come down. Jack didn’t think about anything, he just wanted Mia to be proud of him, so he started climbing the tree and finally, he lost his balance and he fell down from the tree. Even Wilson gave him a chance to help the cat, but Jack still couldn’t do anything. Thus, Wilson climbed up to the tree and helped Oliver with no problem. Everyone liked Wilson, Mrs.Green hugged him and thanked to him. This event made Jack disgrace again. I feel pity to Jack because even he tried to help the cat and showed Mia, he still couldn’t do it and he lost to Wilson all over again. I also feel glad to Jack that he didn’t say any word and he tried to help Mrs.Green. Wilson was lucky again.
Mia told everyone that she is going home and reminded others to not forget to come on her birthday party. And Jack was thinking about this, he didn’t want to go because he hates party. Therefore, he made an excuse that he need to go somewhere with his parents and said that he might not be able to go.
I used reading strategies by predicting that he would go because if he leaves Wilson to stay with Mia together. He might lose Wilson about Mia again. This chapter help me imagined what was going on in a lot of events. For example, when Jack climbed up on the tree and he almost got the cat, but finally the car move a bit farther and he lost his balance, so his fell down from the tree.

Goosebumps #2

I was continuing reading on the book called “Goosebumps” which was written by R.L.Stine. There was a girl called Mia who is the most beautiful girl in middle school and she also had the prettiest hair.
Jack was very good on drawing superheroes. He just drew the new superhero called “The Incredible Laser Man” and he did it every day after he finished his homework, or before he went to bed, or when he had a free period. Jack has a goal, one day he’s going to be a comic book artist.
It is very good that he loved drawing. I have seen many people who are the famous artists that got a lot of money when they sold only one picture. I think being an artist makes people get rich.
But in privately, I don’t like drawing at all. In fact, my drawing sucks.
As you have reading the first post that I said,” Wilson liked to compete in every single thing.”
After Jack finished his drawing, the Laser Man one, the first thing that he did is show it to Mia. But who knows?? When Jack was about to showed his heroes, the competitor, Wilson came with his heroes. Wilson showed his heroes before Jack and Wilson had drawn five superheroes and he also colored in. And he had written as Mia’s protectors at the top of the paper.
It seems like Mia like Wilson superheroes more.
Wilson wouldn’t stop compete on Jack. He still wanted to beat Jack in everything. I think in the world, there are still many people who act like this. We should let them know that it is not good for them. They will make more and more enemies and finally no one will like them.
While I was reading the story, I used dictionary to understand the words I didn’t know. I also read and think while I was reading and also slowly read the information to make sure that I understand everything.
I predict that they wouldn’t stop competing and Jack might tired to draw a better superheroes or maybe he would draw more superheroes than Wilson did.

All The Year Of Her Life

As I have read the story called “All year of her life” which was written by Morley Callaghan. This story is about a boy named Alfred who stole a lipstick and two tubes of toothpaste from Mr. Carr, the owner of the store. Mr. Carr was nearly calling the police, but eventually Alfred’s mom was so calm and that made Alfred get surprise. She talked to Mr. Carr so nice and finally Mr. Carr let them go back home with the words “Tell you son not to come back here again.” Mr. Carr is also a nice guy, even Alfred stole his stuffs, and he still let him go.
We have a discussion in the class and we were talking about what if the character changes. What would happen if Mr. Higgins came? Would he do the same thing as Mrs. Higgins did? What if Mr. or Mrs. Higgins is not American and they are Asian? Would it be different?
Of course, the story will be change. The father might be angry and punch Mr. Carr because he might believe in his son and thinks that Mr. Carr lied to him. But what if Mr. Higgins is an Asian? I think he would be calmer.
So it means that if the story has changed any main character, the story would be change.
When I read the story, I used the reading strategies called “I guess a prediction what the text is about” I used this when his mom came and I thought that she would come and help Alfred and shout on Mr. Carr, but she didn’t do it. She was so calm to Mr. Carr.
I also check my understanding what I read new text. When he saw his mom was drinking a tea in the kitchen and everything looks different. She is calmer, but not like before who goes to the drug store.

Goosebumps #1

I am reading a new book called “Goosebumps” which was written by R.L.Stine. The story has begun with a boy named Jack Johnson. He always had a terrible time with his friends named Wilson. Wilson was a boy who liked to compete in every single thing and had to prove that he’s the best at everything. Even chewing bubble gum, he tried to blow bigger bubbles. When Johnson’s bubble was twice as big as Wilson’s, he said that his was rounder. It shows that Wilson was a kind of selfish and obstinate person. These stuffs reminded me of one of my friends which always tried to be cool in front of everyone. He never listens to others. For example, when I played games with him, even I am better; I have to let him beat me because he might get angry. It taught me that sometimes we don’t need to beat everyone. In my opinion, if we let them win, it would keep our good relationship. I think the goal of Johnson is stop Wilson thinking that he is a lot better than Johnson.
I used the reading strategies When I see the cover of this book, I would predict that some of the characters in the story will have a skill that make them fly because at the cover page, the picture showed boy’s leg which is on the sky with geese. After I read the book for a couple pages, the first thing that came up was his face. This chapter was quite easy to understand so I didn’t use the dictionary, but I stopped and think after I read couple paragraph.

The Enchanted Garden

I am reading the book called "The Enchanted Garden" which was written by Italo Calvino. As I have read the story, I think the story takes place in the enchanted garden which is impossible for the real life. The author was trying to say that “Life sucks” Whether you are rich or poor, your life might not be perfect. Everyone will have a bad time. In the story, two children were not happy to play in this enchanted garden because they have to be careful of other people who would come and catch them. Also the boy that lived in the beautiful house was sick and as we know that when people are sick, they will feel terrible, so the boy was not happy as same as those two children.
When I read this story, I used a reading strategy called "I think about what I know to help me understand what I read", so Serenella did everything that Giovannino said. And the second one called "I also have a purpose in my mind what I read", when Giovannino said that there’s a train coming, but as I have read through the story, that was just a sound of the train.

RAISE YOU VOICE # 8

I am reading the book called Raise Your Voice which was written by Robin Wasserman. The book is so interesting and this is the last part of the book. Slone was playing her piano and Kiwi was also playing drum next to her room. He tried to play as loud as he could to make her come to shout on him. She finally came to the room, and then tries to guess what Kiwi did? He kissed her. Impossibly, she kissed him back. They both were staying together for doing something. You can guess what it is. Even you know what it is, keep it in your mind. I use reading strategies by trying to picture in my mind what was going on.
I also like to play music, I used to play guitar. It was so fun, but I couldn’t play that well. At least I have tried hard and I got on stage once.
After that, everyone went to the auditorium for watching the show that all students were prepared for the whole summer time.
Terry forgot her lucky necklace at her room. Oh my god!! Her dad was in the room. He forced her to go back home, but she didn’t care his words. She told him that she must go up to the stage and show her gift. If it’s me, I will go on the stage either. I won’t give up easily.
It’s Terry and Jay’s turn to show their song. They began the song and Terry’s parents came into the room. They were watching while her daughter was singing a song. At last he felt glad to her, and he realized that he shouldn’t force her daughter for not doing something she likes. I feel pleased to her that lastly, her dad understands her. After everything is done, everyone started to play music together. The End…
I want to recommend this book to anyone especially who likes music. It is good that the book shows the goal of people which they were trying hard on their music and also finally finished her daddy’s problem.
